Initial Hypnosis Microphone thoughts & A question about Chuoku Ward

I recently picked up Hypnosis Microphone after the longest time knowing existed (I've even listened to some of the songs before) but not bothering to download the game or listen to the audio dramas.

So far it's somewhat enjoyable? I like Fling Posse and Matenrou, especially Ramuda, Hifumi, and Doppo. Jakurai and Dice are also pretty interesting, but strangely enough the one character I was previously interested in, Gentarou, is not that interesting to me so far?

My waning interest in Gentarou is probably to blame on 100% of my interest in him being his appearance. His personality just isn't my style so far, and his appearance isn't enough to keep me interested.

I mean I still like how he looks, that's not changed, but it's just not enough to keep me interested when there's Ramuda who seems pretty unhinged, Hifumi & Doppo who've got such a weird but fun friendship, Jakurai who likes collecting weird guys to observe them, and Dice with his gambling addiction (relatable.) Gentarou is simply the weakest link sadly...

I don't have much to say for the other characters so far (Buster Bros!!! & MAD TRIGGER CREW)(I know there are other characters, but those are the ones introduced at the beginning, and the ones I know.) Other than Jiro's song This Means War I haven't liked the songs they've put out, which is disappointing. Hopefully that'll change.

I mean, I didn't really like Jakurai's 2017 song Labyrinth Wall, but other than his, the other members of Matenrou & the members of Fling Posse all had "almost passable" songs or ones I actually approved of! Nothing I'd make a friend listen to, but not bafflingly bad like New Star or What's My Name. Sorry to the fans of those songs, and the fans of the characters who sung them (Saburo & Rio), but they were just so not my thing.

Switching topics but... I'm still only at the beginning bits of Hypnosis Microphone, I haven't even encountered them directly in the story yet, but all I've been wondering about ever since I learned a little about Chuohku Ward is "are they transphobic...?" Like when do they start letting the trans girls in? DO they let the trans girls in? What does this oppressive (?) government think about transgender women...

My guess is that they don't because they're supposed to suck aren't they? "Women only" spaces are pretty notorious for being the types of spaces that exclude transgender women because of transphobia and transmisogyny... I mean it probably doesn't get addressed in canon but who knows? Not me!

If anyone's got the answer to my question, I would appreciate an answer! Talking about strictly canon only, I'm not interested in whatever "fanon" there is (if there is any)... Not that I think my question will be answered before I discover it myself LOL. I know there's nobody subscribed to this journal. I'll leave a comment on this entry if canon ever does bring the topic up! For now though, I think I'll just keep litening to the voice dramas and try to catch up on nearly 8 years of story.
