Welcome to the profile for my journal! I am Yuuki, the writer behind this journal :) My friends have also nicknamed me "Bear," as it's apart of my username, so if you see me referred to as "Bear" or refer to myself as "Bear," that is why.
My profile isn't too long, just some basic information about myself, an introduction to the things I write here, and some of my boundaries that I hope will be respected. I've broken my bio into sections for easier reading, so I hope everyone will read to the end!
Personal Information:
In my personal life I currently live as a post-secondary student with a focus in language studies. I'm quite the novice still, not even close to an expert, but I hope to be one once I graduate.
In English my pronouns are They/Them/Theirs, and, in languages with gender based grammar that do not have a singular gender neutral option, I use masculine language for myself, and would ask you refer to me with masculine language outside of English unless I express otherwise.
A los hispanohablantes que lean esto, si están familiarizados con el neopronombre «elle» por favor usen «elle» o «él» para mí, gracias.
About This Journal & Other Websites:
As for what you can find on my journal, my main fandom is the manga Yohaji and probably will always be Yohaji. I am willing to speak about things other than Yohaji, I delve into other fandoms quite frequently, and I also write original fiction that I occaisionally post. For more information about the fandoms I play around in, and the kinds of stories I like, refer to my sticky posts. My interests list isn't the most comprehensive guide to all my interests, as I only list a fandom as an interest on my profile after I've written at least 2 entries about it, but I don't list anything there that I dislike even if I write multiple entries on the topic so you can be sure the things I list on my profile are things I like. My interests lists is more of a good general guide to the fandoms that I post about, but it's not an all encompassing list of my interests.
As previously mentioned, I am a language studies student, which means I am currently in the process of learning several languages. The primary language used on this journal is English, but comments written in Spanish either here or on AO3 will be answered back in Spanish to the best of my abilities. I'm not confident enough with my Japanese language skills to make the same offer for Japanese speakers, but hopefully in coming years that will change.
For where to find me outside of Dreamwidth, you can refer to the links listed in the links section on my journal page. Don't expect those places to be easier avenues to speak with me, as Dreamwidth is the main website to find me. I prefer it here, even if I'm active other places, other websites are secondary to Dreamwidth for me.
Boundaries:
One thing I do not talk about often is that I am mixed race and Japanese. As someone who doesn't live in Japan though, please do not come to me asking me for advice on how to write your ethnically Japanese characters, or about how to write a story set in Japan. I'm not an expert on Japanese culture nor Japanese history, I'm just your average blogger on the internet. I also usually do not want to talk about things like the racism I've encountered throughout my life, or other related topics to racism, as it's just really unpleasant for me to talk about. Please do not come to me to talk about those things.
Another thing I don't really talk about is my religious identity. As a religious minority in the place I live, I've faced quite a lot of unwelcome attempts to convert me to other religions over the years. I no longer tolerate this behaviour to any degree, so any conversations about "accepting God into my heart" or any other proselytizing will be met with an immediately ban from commenting on my journal. I wish to live in a world where all people can live with their identity respected, so if you do not respect my identity, you will be banned and I will not unban you.
Thank you for reading to the end of my mini-bio! I hope you have a wonderful day :)
