Yohaji's anime is coming so so very soon, I feel at the edge of my seat waiting for news, less than a week to go is such little time! There's really not much more information left to be revealed about the show, that doesn't mean I've stopped being on the lookout for more of it, but with it being so close to the official release date of the first episode, we're at the point where interviews with the cast and production team are the most news you'll hear regarding production matters. (Which is a good thing, since working on producing the show this close to release sounds like a crunch nightmare... The animation and manga industries in Japan are quite horrible, but surely they aren't still working on the animation this late? Let's hope not and that's it's an already finished thing...)
I've yet to hear which company will be doing the subtitles, but my expectation is for it to be Crunchyroll: The Crunchyroll website's news page lists there's still seven yet to be revealed shows that they'll be doing the English subtitles for this fall season. I check the official Crunchyroll news page multiple times a day, so when it gets confirmed that the Crunchyroll company will be doing the English subtitles I'll know within just a few hours after the announcement!
The advance screening day is even closer than that, less than 72 hours away. Not that it's got anything to do with me, it's an in-person event held in Shinjuku, not the kind of thing that I could participate in so easily (even if I did have the money for the ticket, won the ticket lottery, and had the day off from studying). I hope some people will post on twitter about their experiences at the screening. I'm not sure how these types of things go, since I've never been to an advanced screening of anything, but it sounds so exciting. It was announced that the MC for the event is set to be Tanie Reo, who's the seiyuu playing Mame! There's also going to be 3 other speakers: Oosaka Ryouta (who plays Haruaki), Suzuki Ryouta (who plays Sano), and Fukuyama Jun (who plays The Principal)! It sounds like attending the advanced screening would be lots of fun. I wonder if they'll do a bit where they put on an act in character? I want to see it so badly, but that's just not the kind of thing you can see unless you go to the event yourself...
Even if I can't go to the screening, at least there's still interviews to look forward to that are available to the public to read! Yesterday while scrolling through twitter, I stumbled upon one interview released as an article. I'm going to try reading it through one of those websites that translates things for you for free, since my Japanese skills are not nearly high enough to read the whole thing without assistance, but that doesn't hamper my excitement much. I'm saving it to read later as a reward for my future self after I finish some more of my assignments. I want to read it now so badly, but hopefully that intense want will motivate me to get things done.
It's things like interviews with the cast that make the approaching release date feel so much more real. There's many things that make it feel "real", but an interview is so... so tangible to me? There's wonderful art on twitter where loyal fans have been releasing daily fan art in anticipation of the anime, and that has amped up my excitement for sure, but an interview? I guess it holds more weight in my heart, since it's got me so excited I could scream! An interview with three members of the cast! The cast members interviewed even overlap with three of the four cast members who'll be at the advanced screening! Fukuyama Jun wasn't interviewed but the other three were, and that makes up for a bit of the pain of not being able to attend the advanced screening.
Less than a week... Less than a week... It's so close!
